This course is one of four comprehensive courses that focus on the duties of the administrative dental assistant in any type of dental practice. The practice administrator plays a key role in the smooth operation of any dental practice, including the protection of patient information and records management. Focus is on attainment of complete and accurate records and their legal ramifications with regards to risk management, storage, and patient consent. Basic charting information including tooth numbering systems, parts of the tooth, and cavity classifications is discussed. Also includes types of drugs and prescription abbreviations.
