ADAA February 2026 President Letter

Dental assistants are the steady hands and compassionate hearts that keep dentistry moving forward, and I want you to know how deeply you are valued.

As we head into Dental Assistants Recognition Week (DARW) during the first week of March, I encourage every office to pause and celebrate the incredible work we do every single day. Be sure to visit the American Dental Assistants Association website to check out DARW merchandise. It’s a great way to show pride in our profession and support the work of the Association. If your office is celebrating, we would love to see it. Please send in photos from your DARW celebrations so we can spotlight dental assistants across the country.

I’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Board for all of the hard work being done behind the scenes. We are working on initiatives to help advance the Association as well as our profession. Special thanks to  Brett O’Donnell, Chair of the Advocacy Committee, for his leadership and dedication to the advancement of dental assisting. Thank you as well to our members who have shared legislative and advocacy updates from Indiana, Illinois, Arizona, Virginia, and Michigan. Your voices matter, and your engagement strengthens our profession nationwide.

Dental assistants continue to rise, lead, and make an impact in ways both seen and unseen. Your work matters. Your voice matters. And together, we are shaping the future of dental assisting.

“Never doubt the difference you make—every patient, every day.”

With gratitude,
Erin Hendricks, RDA, CCHW
