ADAA August 2025 President Letter

As we close out the summer months and start considering lower temperatures, shorter days, and a return to school for many, the ADAA Board continues to plan for the future. On July 30 and July 31, the Board participated in a strategic planning session. This was a much-needed session to consider the current environment and how ADAA can build a future organization that supports dental assistants today.

To that end, I am pleased to announce our new mission and vision and our four areas of strategic focus over the next 3-5 years.

New Mission Statement:‎

We support and advance the careers of dental assistants through education, advocacy, ‎and ‎connection while elevating the profession and improving the quality of patient care.‎

New Vision Statement:

ADAA is nationally recognized and the leading voice in shaping a future where every dental ‎assistant ‎reaches their full potential, is valued for their unique contributions to the dental ‎team and plays a ‎vital role in delivering exceptional individual patient care.‎

Strategic Areas of Focus:

Elevate the Profession Through Education, Advocacy and Professional Recognition

Objective: Deliver high-quality, career-relevant education while promoting the value, expertise, and impact of dental assistants within the dental team and across the oral health care system.

Grow and Engage a Thriving Membership Community
Objective: Strengthen member value and connection while attracting and retaining a broader, more engaged dental assistant workforce.

Amplify ADAA’s Visibility and Strategic Influence
Objective: Raise ADAA’s profile and impact through communications, leadership opportunities, and strategic collaborations with aligned organizations.

Celebrate the Profession and Sustain Organizational Growth
Objective: Strengthen ADAA’s ability to deliver long-term value by celebrating its members, milestones, and mission while growing a sustainable business model.

As president, I invite each of you to renew your commitment to the profession and consider volunteering to work on any one of these initiatives that we will build out over this last quarter of 2025, renewing your membership and recruiting new members along the way. The more voices we unite the greater the impact we can have together.

So, be watching for ways to sign up to volunteer, get engaged and involved in steering the dental assisting profession. In fact, right now, we have our Call for Board Nominations open. You can have an even greater impact by serving on the Board.

Sincerely,
Ronda V. Lane
