ADAA September 2025 President Letter

Autumn is a season of change: cooler weather, vibrant colors, and new beginnings. Last month we shared ADAA’s updated mission, vision, and strategic pillars. Now it’s time to bring those ideas to life.

Education

We’re launching specialized learning bundles, covering topics such as radiology, infection control, clinical skills, and many more featuring some of our highest-rated courses. These bundles will help members and non-members sharpen skills while driving engagement and revenue.

Advocacy

Our legislative advocates program is gaining momentum to ensure dental assistants’ voices are heard by key policymakers and the public. Who else will stand up for dental assistants if we do not?   If both dentists and dental assistants want us to expand our duties, then we need to make sure that appropriate education always accompanies these tasks with appropriate pay increases too.  Dental assistants DO add significant production to every dental practice. Join today!

Grassroots Connections

We’re strengthening ties with state and local affiliates, because the strength of any organization begins at the local and state levels. Your insights from the field keep us adaptable and resilient.

More Initiatives Ahead

Other projects are on the horizon: a new Theme Week, a refreshed website, progress toward a national entry-level standard, and partnerships with dental influencers to boost awareness.

These changes are in our profession’s best interest, and they need your involvement. Elections are next month. Please take time to review the candidates. President-Elect Erin Hendricks is ready to move ADAA forward, and she’ll need your support.  Become an active participant and move from a passive “sideline observer” to an active, hands-on role in life, your community, and your personal development.

Watch for opportunities to volunteer, get engaged, and help steer the future of dental assisting. A united and coordinated organization will always flourish if you ‎believe that the value of a dental assistant is worth fighting for.‎

Sincerely,

Ronda V. Lane
