Letter From Leadership: Lisa Childers Hernandez

Dear Members and Prospective Members,

We are approaching a time of celebration and giving. As I reflect on the past year, I am thankful for family, friends, and my profession. Dental Assisting has brought many joys, achievements, friendships, and pride in my chosen profession. I think about the new dental assistant just starting their career and remember the excitement I felt. I had guidance from my office and established friendships and mentors through ADAA. We are the mentors to the next generation of dental assistants.

A key focus for us is membership growth and retention. I’m thrilled about the “Black Friday and Cyber Monday” membership campaign initiated by Kellen. Membership remains our core priority, and it’s up to us to welcome, mentor, and integrate both new and seasoned dental assistants. Our collective efforts are vital in attracting new and renewing members. The Council on Membership is diligently working on enhancing membership benefits, organizing activities, and planning special events. Watch out for innovative ideas from the student and membership committees. Your suggestions are always welcome – we encourage every member to play a pivotal role in the evolution of ADAA. If you’re eager to contribute to this movement, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

With the holiday season fast approaching, our focus naturally shifts to giving our time and thoughtful gifts, bringing surprise and happiness to our loved ones. Embracing the enchanting spirit of the season, consider the meaningful gift of an ADAA membership for a graduating dental assisting student, a newcomer in your office, or even an experienced dental assistant. Let’s foster and strengthen our bonds through ADAA.

As the year draws to a close, I reflect on the invaluable experiences ADAA has brought into my life and feel compelled to share these benefits with others. Our management team, alongside the Board of Directors and Councils, is committed to promoting and advancing ADAA, tirelessly working to introduce new educational opportunities and events for dental assistants. I eagerly anticipate our goal of convening an in-person meeting and the continued growth of our community.

Sincerely,

Lisa Childers Hernandez.
